Giving and receiving can be multiplied endlessly. It investigates happiness between giver and receiver, and how fleeting happiness can be for both. This poem is not about the boy at all, but about happiness and selflessness. This is a wonderful poem, and people who can't see past the environmental and moral aspect are far too egotistical.
